About me

I am a qualified secondary teacher, with a Doctorate in Education. I have an MA in Applied Linguistics and an MA in Education. My doctoral research centred on academic writing, and I work also in proofreading, editing, and Spanish-to-English translation. I taught for several years at the EIM (the School of Modern Languages) at the University of Barcelona. I home educated my three children up to university level. I am based in Spain, and work as a freelance English editor, editing academic journals for MDPI.

I set up my own small business because I believe that all children and young people are able to engage with and find interest in all areas of knowledge, and that understanding how topics connect is the basis for a love of learning.

About You

If you are interested in enrichment, you might be a parent, an educator, or a young person who wants to explore topics outside the curriculum. You might want to study something completely new, or extend familiar topics. You might just be curious, or you may be thinking about future exam options. You may want to prepare an exam or apply (or re-apply) to a university which would value your curiosity and knowledge. You may want to discuss ideas, or you may know exactly what you want to do.

The Enrichment Page illustrates ideas and shows examples of previous enrichment projects.

Experience and Services

Materials design

I have designed teaching materials and activities at doctoral level for university writing courses, and for all levels and topics during homeschooling. I can work with you to design projects and resources.

Home education

I have homeschooled my own children from primary to university. I have many years of experience of writing and using teaching materials and activities. I can help you explore new topics or extend familiar ones.

Academic writing

Analysis of text cohesion and coherence was part of my doctoral thesis. I can help with all types of writing, and with proofreading and editing. I work as a freelance English editor for MDPI, editing academic journals.

Exam preparation

GCSE and A levels and the university admission process formed a central part of my work with my own children. I am familiar with all aspects of examination preparation and enrolment, and can anticipate and explore problems you may have.
